Prof Fayose said this during the commissioning of an E-learning centre to facilitate teaching and learning of diploma, degree, Masters and PhD programmes at the EPUC in Ho. The project was in collaboration with the ICT University, USA. The programme is aimed at giving opportunity to people who are ready to take their education to another level through technology. Prof Fayose said he was excited about the project and urged students to take advantage of it to improve upon their education.
Commissioning the centre, President of the board of trustees of the ICT University in the USA, Prof Victor Mbarika, said the purpose of establishing the centre is to allow programmes at EPUC to be put in an E-learning platform so that students from all walks of life can take courses offered by the University College. According to him, lecturers from the EP University will now be able to put their courses on the platform so that students can access classes wherever they are.
Prof Mbarika also announced plans by the ICT University to introduce an electronic library by 2016. The library will be started with one million books for students in order to reduce the cost of spending on learning materials.
