Programme Philosophy and Objectives:

The joint 4-year degree programme is structured such that the general agriculture courses constitute about 40% of the total programme while the remaining 60% comprise of Business courses.  The programme seeks to:

• meet the need for adaptive, adaptable graduates with the ability to manage change in agribusinesses
• empower students from a variety of educational backgrounds to fulfill their academic potential
• develop students' personal and interpersonal transferable skills in agribusiness
• provide students with opportunities for continuing intellectual development
• provide an academic basis for further study of business and management at graduate level and/or graduate training.

Prospects after graduation include agricultural/food processing and operations analysis, farm management, agro-forestry, research, agricultural loans office, agribusiness corporate sales representation, extension, project management, entrepreneurship, provision of services amongst others.
Admission Requirements

To qualify for the Programme, candidates must:

Level 100

• possess five credit passes at ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics in Business/Arts subjects plus two/ three passes at ‘A’ Level excluding General. Candidates with relevant GBCE and ABCE will also be considered.
• be SSSCE/WASSCE holder with passes in six subjects; three core subjects -English, Mathematics and Social Studies/Integrated Science, plus      three ElectiveSubjects in Business/General Arts. SSSCE: aggregate 24 or better; grade E not accepted. WASSCE: Aggregate 36 or better; grades D7 and E8 not accepted.
• be mature candidate aged 25 years and above with at least two years relevant work experience and must have passed the E. P. University College Placement Examinations.
• DBS (4 passes) with credit passes in English and Mathematics at SSSCE/WASSCE

Level200

• Five Passes in Diploma in Business Studies (DBS), Pass in Higher National Diploma (HND).
• Certificate in Agriculture
• Post-Secondary Teachers’ Certificate/Diploma in Education

Level 300

• Relevant HND holders with 2nd Class Lower and better or must have other relevant Diplomas from recognized Universities/Institutions or possess relevant Professional Certificate.

Foreign Students
Foreign students with qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above will be considered for admission at the appropriate level.  However, applicants from Francophone and other non-English speaking countries must attach to their applications evidence of Proficiency in English. All foreign certificates shall be referred to National Accreditation Board for determination of equivalence.
