VISION
The Evangelical Presbyterian University College is envisaged as a centre of excellence for comprehensive, sustained and advanced training, research and service to community in major areas of social and economic concern in Ghana and the wider world.

To this end, the University College aims at running programmes in relevant academic, professional and development disciplines that will attract students and scholars from all over Africa and the world at large.  EPUC seeks to achieve these objectives in an ambience that promotes the development of sound religious, moral and ethical principles, as well as high scholarly and professional achievement.

MISSION
The mission of the Evangelical Presbyterian University College is to propagate the light of Christ through advanced teaching and research and service, and to bring newness of life, knowledge and new skills to all humankind.

The Mission Statement derives from the motto of the E.P. Church as quoted above (“Bringing light to where there is darkness”).  The Mission Statement of the University College relates that light to knowledge which is expected to bring new life, new knowledge and new skills to communities in Ghana and the world at large.

MOTTO
The motto of the University is: “Knowledge is Light”.

UNIQUENESS
The University is envisaged to develop into an institution with its own identity.  To this end the EPUC shall be an IT-based institution.  It shall also be an open university that will reach out to those who are matured and talented but excluded from access to university education.

The EPUC shall be a Centre of Research, Creativity and Excellence.  There shall be an Innovation Centre established in the university to provide facilities for students and faculty to engage in research, demonstration and creativity in fields of academic, professional and economic interest such as the following: wood work unit, aqua culture field laboratory, animal breeding research unit, etc.

The purpose of teaching and learning at EPUC shall be to enable students
  • apply knowledge (not just to recall facts);
  • discover new ways of thinking, new ways of doing things and new ways of adapting to change in the community and the world; and
  • learn how to solve problems when they confront them.
